HOW TO SEE A
DOCTOR OR NURSE
We operate an appointment system.
Appointments can be made:
By calling in person at the surgery. By telephoning 01277 212820.
Alternatively, you could seek advice
from:
NHS Direct 0845 4647
Pharmacist (click

for telephone numbers)
Surgeries run throughout the day
from 9.00am to 6.30pm on weekdays.
The actual surgery times vary
slightly from day to day and between
each doctor.
A certain number of appointments are
held back for emergencies that arise
on that day. We aim to offer an
appointment with the doctor of your
choice within two working days, but
if you need to be seen urgently, you
may have to see the duty doctor. If
you do not need an appointment
within two working days, you also
have the option to book up to 4
weeks in advance if this is more
convenient.
SATURDAY SURGERIES
On Saturdays the
surgery is open from 9am until 12
noon. We have two doctors and a
nurse for pre-bookable appointments.
A nurse is now
available on Saturdays between
9.00-11.30.
HOW TO TALK TO A
DOCTOR OR NURSE BY TELEPHONE
Doctors and nurses are usually busy
in surgery seeing patients, so if
you telephone to speak to a doctor
or nurse, the receptionist will take
a message for you.
If the matter is urgent, the duty
doctor will call you back after they
have seen their current patient.
In other cases, if appropriate, the
doctor or nurse will call you back
at the end of the surgery.
Receptionists will be able to give
you test results.
CHOICE OF DOCTOR
Please be aware of which doctors are
part-time. These will be more
difficult to get a choice of
appointments with, so you may wish
to see a full time doctor.
Each doctor has one
day off each week as follows:
- Dr Lloyd will
not be in surgery Mondays,
Tuesdays or Wednesday am
- Dr Garrett
will not be in surgery on
Wednesdays.
- Dr Sanka will
not be in surgery on Wednesdays.
- Dr Woolterton
will not be in surgery on
Thursdays.
- Dr Tuppen
will not be in surgery on
Thursdays.
- Dr Banka will
not be in surgery on Tuesdays.
- Dr Pandit
only in surgery on
Wednesdays.
The receptionist may ask for some
brief details about your problem in
order to assess the urgency. You may
generally choose which doctor you
see, but we do suggest that you try
to see the same doctor each time,
even if this means waiting a few
days for non-urgent problems. This
will mean that you get continuity of
care, which is better for you and
for us.
